As we have finished our trip in Geneva, we wanted to visit another French Alps spot because we had a better weather and tele-cabins were available. So we went to Crozet, found the tele-cabins, parked the car and jumped on it all the way up to Lelex.

As we went up sun started to come in and gave us incredible sights. When we arrived to Lelex we just took one of the tracking routes and walked about an hour on snow. We were already above some clouds so it was great to see that along with Lac Leman. A lot of pictures, a lot of walks and little bit of sun burn was there when we got back in our car and headed east alongside the coast to our new Airbnb location in Rolle.
Rolle is a small town just next to the lake and apart from its castle (Chateau de Rolle) it left me with a memory i will never forget. (50 euro for a regular haircut for man) Sorry the town itself has nothing to do with it but i will just be remembering Rolle with that and don't ask me why i happened to be having a haircut in there. (I was already looking quite like a caveman)
Anyways apart from the unforgettable barber shop disaster we recovered fast and next day we went to visit a winery. When you travel to Lausanne from Geneva , you will see a region around Rolle is full of vineyards and also wineries. Villages and towns like Gimel, Fechy are all close by and have a lot of places to visit to discover local wines and make degustations. We did ours and bought couple of bottles for pretty acceptable prices. (Comparing to Swiss standards.)

| Museum of Fine Arts |
We then headed to Lausanne and unfortunately it was a rainy day so time to visit some museums. Charlie spotted a poster that says Exhibition of Ai Weiwei is available in town. (Of course it was a contemporary artist) We found the Museum of Fine Arts and suprisingly entrance was free.
We have seen a lot of pieces of his work and also couple other artist but i must admit i was really impressed by his work.(it is my 3rd encounter of contemporary art in our blog and so far it was impressive.) All that effort made me really hungry so we decided to try out a burger place we spotted before. When we saw it we said Holy Cow! Literally it is called Holy Cow . Concept, taste and speed was really good. Prices were Swiss standards. Maybe a little bit cheaper but you are just eating a burger after all. After having enough calories we were ready to take some walk in the city and walked all the from restaurant through Grand-Pont where you pass by a bridge and see the biggest cathedral of Switzerland from nice spot. In the end of Grand-Pont we have found a little steep road down called Petit-chene that has a lot of interesting shops.

| Lausanne Train Station |
We took it all the way down and ended up in front of Lausanne Train Station.
Interesting building to see since it is an olympic city it has olympics symbol on its sign. The weather was not so good for us to do the effort of visiting olympics related things and we did not thing it would be something of interest but you may do that if you fancy. It is not in the central as far as we saw. After all that walk i was already getting tired and ready to go back. Charlie challenged us to walk back from the steep we came in. That meant i had to climb all that back! Challenge accepted and we took the opportunity to stop by some shops and buy couple of things. If you are interested in collection items such as coins, stamps and on the other hand precious stones and tarot cards , street has a good selection for you. If only one of you is interested with such things the other one can go to a wine shop and bar to make some degustations next to the other shops. So we finished our shopping and got back to Rolle.![]() |

If we would put some useful tips to summarize
• Most of the pricing and food classification from Geneva also stands for Lausanne
• Lausanne looked much more cultural city with the number of events during our visit
• Coast side of Lausanne was not so impressive after Geneva
• A lot of local vineyards are located very close by reach of around 20 km
• Do not ever go to a barber shop in Switzerland
• Lausanne looked relatively less touristic compared to Geneva.
